Interesting turn of god like events

I think its kind of sad that religion could take precedent over scientific discoveries, i can understand how it happens but still it saddens me. What i find worse though is how people can let a religion hinder them in advancing their society. its amazing that this man was able to find what he did and i think its terrible that even after he is long gone, he is still being subject to slander.
