Intellect or ignorance

Lately my studies has brought me closer to intellectual heights but i find the closer i seem to get the more grey my world seems to turn. I often wonder to my self if it would be better to live in blissful ignorance, blind to all the painful realities. I realize most of the time intellect is better despite the consequence. I pose the question to you, would you rather live your life blind to the truths of life, or aware of all that is around you?
