Commentary. Music

Music has made a mockery of itself from what it was to what it is today now. The epitome of everything music should not be- MTV. From the moment the music video was invented was the moment music, with all its intrinsic beauty was desecrated. Image is now valued over musical creativity, where the look of a band will determine the amount of fans it has. Can these people really be called musicians? Is it really possible to play simple chord progressions in 4/4 timing, and make it to the top? MTV has made that a possibility; for a manufactured, plastic entity to be called a musician. The realization that MTV has corrupted the very nature of music itself has still to be ushered into mainstream society. The transformation is despicable, and it is up to the individual to listen to their soul rather than to watch the image, because so much of music is a passion we all breath. A love that will never subside.

wow i've never heard something spoken so true. and i agree 100% look at the people who become popular now, justin biber, fuckin ti and all that shit. if you ever go to a show to see any of the supposed musicians its actually disgusting how bad they sound. you can hear the effects over thier voice. i just wonder what will happen if music continues to progress this way
